Suboshi, TV episode 27

I cannot even express the feeling I get when I look at this cel. For so long I searched for a cel of Suboshi, and at long last, I finally have one as a part of my collection. Many people helped me aquire this beautiful cel, and I'm very much in debt to them. Thank you, everyone. I got this cel signed by Yuu Watase at Animazement 2002, doesn't she sign pretty in kanji? ^_^

You can't get much more of a classic Suboshi image, than a bloody one. ^^; This cel comes in during a very pivotal part of the series, and really proved that Suboshi was a true villain. Suboshi doesn't quite appear as often as his twin brother, Amiboshi, making him much harder to find. I warn you now, if you have not seen FY, then do not read the spoiler below. ^^;

Suboshi was severely traumatized by his older twin brother's death. All through his life Amiboshi always watched out for him, after their parents were murdered and they became orphans. While Amiboshi is the more calm natured of the two, Suboshi was more brash and wild. When they were younger, Suboshi became involved in a street gang, but later moved on to serve Nakago in Kotou, and to protecting the Seiryuu no Miko.

After his brother's accidental "death" at the hands of the Suzaku Seishi, Suboshi vowed that he would avenge his death. Nakago gave him this chance when he told Suboshi to go and murder Tamahome's family.

While Tamahome is inside his home, holding his dead younger sister Yuiren, Miaka and Nuriko stand outside in complete shock. A few moments later, they both hear a very familiar tune being played, causing them to glance up on top of the roof, to where a lone figure in a black cape stood playing the flute. At first Miaka thinks it is Amiboshi, but when the figure throws off the cape, they soon realize that this is not the person who had posed as Chiriko to fool them. Suboshi introduces himself as the younger brother of Amiboshi, and that he is here to avenge his brother's murder.

Suddenly off to the side, on the ground, a pained voice calls out to him.

"You did it."

As Suboshi looks over, he sees a very enraged Tamahome. The two comence to a fierce battle, but Tamahome quickly overpowers him as he uses his new powers given to him by Taitsukun. However, Suboshi is saved just in time by Soi, and the two dissappear, leaving Tamahome to his grief.

The sketch to match this was so detailed and pristine, that I just had to scan it. The blood on Suboshi's face really stands out here. I have yet to see any other cels of Suboshi from this episode, as of 2018.
