I mentioned once before that I would never be able to afford the closeup shot of Tamahome from this opening sequence, thus I bought the more panned back one a couple months before. This cel surprisingly came up on Mandarake's Big Web Auction in November of 2007, and I kind of laughed cause I figured the price would go way out of my league. It turned out the auction would end while I was away to Houston for the weekend without internet access, so I decided to put a shot out in the dark by placing one bid on this cel. I went ahead and bid my max, with still three days left to go. Imagine my surprise when I came back home, and had an e-mail in my box stating I had won! Never in a million years did I believe my bid would have held out to the very end like it did. O_o; As such, I figure it's fate of some kind that this gorgeous and breathtaking cel is now home with me. ^_^; This was a wishlist beyond wishlists cel for me, and I can't be any more happier than I am right now to own this piece of artwork from my most favourite anime of all time. Ahhh... his eyes and hair and pose omg. @_@;; Everything is so perfect! There's absolutely no line fading or paint flaws to be found, which is one of the most wonderful things about opening cels. There is no doubt that I will be getting this one professionally framed in the near future. This cel will most definitely never, ever be for sale under any circumstances. |
