This cel has a very, very long history. O_o Nancy first put this cel up for sale from her personal collection way back in January of 2000. I had just begun to collect cels, and didn't really think I could afford it at the time, though I loved it dearly. There's a lot of cels of Tasuki out from this episode, but a great deal of them look the same, and I wanted one that was very different, and this one definately caught my eye. ^^; (I'm such a sucker for closeups. :P) Soo, as the months went by, it was put on hold, then taken off hold, then put on hold again...then taken off hold...then it disappeared completely, and I came to the conclusion that it had at last been sold. However, much to my surprise, it showed up again for sale nearly 6 months later! I didn't hesitate a moment to order it, and now, here it is! ^^ Later Nancy told me that this cel had been put on hold *4* times, and each time the buyer had cancelled. I guess it's just fate that it now is here with me. ^^; Not that I mind. :D Bwuahaha. The battle between Tasuki and Evil Tamahome was the most kickass fight in the entire series. >:D Not only did we get to see just how great Evil Tamahome is, but we also see the strength and bravery Tasuki is capable of. After Miaka pleads with him to not hurt her beloved Tamahome, he puts away his weapon, and from thereon doesn't put a scratch on Tamahome for Miaka's case. As a consequence however, he suffers a great deal of pain, and is beaten to a pulp. I just loved this cel, Tasuki is staring *straight at you*. Out of all of my Tasuki cels, even my Episode 51 pan, this one is probably my most favourite. |
