I'm so glad to have finally found a cel from this emotional scene at the end of episode 20. For being such a close-up shot, the expression here is still very nice, and Tasuki is actually smiling for once (in a pained sort of way. ^_^;). After Miaka pleaded with Tasuki to not hurt her beloved Tamahome, even if he wasn't acting like his usual self, Tasuki placed his tessan fan in it's sheath, and thereafter did not land a single blow on Evil Tamahome. However, just because Tasuki put away his toy, didn't mean Tamahome was going to let up at all. ;) So therefor Tasuki presumed to get the crap beat out of him. After Amiboshi finally broke through the seiryuu barrier, Chichiri used his magic to transport himself, Miaka and Tasuki away from harm. In this scene, Tasuki is laying in Miaka's arms, bruised and battered. He tells Miaka, with a small smile on his face, that "...this is why....I hate girls..." he then falls unconscience from the pain. This makes Miaka realize that what Tamahome did was horribly wrong. She then comes to the final decision, to say goodbye to her beloved, for good. (ahh...if only it had stayed that way. ;-;) |
